** Now on THURSDAYS **

Ladies and gentlemen, I hope you're excited about this month's meeting. Here's what we have in store for you at this month's TasLUG meeting in Hobart:

When: Thursday, April 18th, 18:00 for an 18:30 start
Where: 69 Liverpool St, Hobart. (Map)

  • 18:00 - early mingle, chin wagging, etc
  • 18:30 - Question and answer session, plus any lightening talks
  • 19:00 - An Introduction to Python
    Speaker: Chris Neugebauer
Ever heard of Python, that programming language that Chris won't shut up about at TasLUG meetings? Well, now's your opportunity to find out a bit about it!

In this talk, we'll be looking at some of the features that make Python an interesting language, starting with the basics, and hopefully putting together some interesting code by the end of the talk.

We'll be using Python 3 in this talk, so if you're only familiar with Python 2, you can come along to see what the differences are.
  • 20:00 - Meeting end. Many people go to the Brunswick for dinner.

27th - Launceston meeting
4th - Statewide meetup, Ross (Saturday)
16th - John Kristensen: Linux Gaming
20th - Julius Roberts: All Your Computers Are Belong to Ansible
5-7th - PyCon Australia, hosted in Hobart.
18th - I Like Your Old Window Manager Better Than  Your New Window Manager
(x5 speakers required to spruik their favourite window manager)
